We met Sally & Mike what seems like such a long time ago but caught up with them recently for their York Engagement Photography session not so long ago. So today we have the images from Sally & Mike’s country house Arkholme Wedding.

We were really excited to see the venue as we had only a vague description of what it was like (being Sally’s parent’s house). We found it set back down many twisty turn country lanes in a lovely quiet part of the countryside – a perfect setting for their wedding day. We popped in to catch some of the bridal preparations with Sally & her bridesmaids before separating and Chris went down to the local Arkholme village pub – The Bay Horse to meet Mike and the guests. This was a great idea and gave everybody a chance to have a chat with the groom and to have a quick drink before the ceremony at the church.

Sally & Mike had guests from around the Globe so it was really special for them to be a part of the wedding. After the ceremony we went to a nearby woodland for some Bride & Groom portraits on a lovely bridge surrounded by nature and a little stream, before heading back to see the guests at the house. Sally’s dad had a marquee put up in their garden (which we saw the final touches being added early that morning) and it really made a great setting for the evenings activities.
