Frankie & Ben's York Wedding Day
Merchant Adventurers Hall Wedding Photographer York
It may have been Christmas but at Chris & Hazel HQ we were working right up to the big day. Today we have Ben & Frankie’s beautiful York city centre wedding at Heslington Church, York and at the York Merchant Adventurers Hall. Chris headed over to catch up with Frankie, her parents and the bridesmaids at a fantastic central york wedding getting ready location -The Apartment at Purey Cust house, situated just behind the York Minster Cathedral.
Hazel spent the morning with Ben, his parents and the ushers before heading over to Heslington Church where Ben and and the ushers were greeting the arriving guests. Heslington Church is somewhere we are quite familiar with now, having photographed Kim & Martin’s wedding here for the first time back in 2012, Rory and Rebecca’s wedding in 2013 (Rory Dalgliesh being one of the Reverend at the church) and now Frankie & Ben.
The ceremony was lovely with a particularly moving choice of words from Alex (Frankie’s father) when ‘giving her away’. Rev Jan Nobel asked “Who is giving this woman to marry this man” to which Alex replied “Nobody. She gives herself freely”. We thought it was such a fantastic notion and really moved us.
The wedding party all enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine after the ceremony before heading over to the reception venue – The Merchant Adventurers Hall York. We spent the remainder of the evening enjoying the speeches, Frankie’s father playing the bagpipes for the Bride and Groom entrance and finished the evening with a cracking Ceilidh band. Enjoy!
